Updated Procedures around Covid-19 / Coronavirus

Following Lockdown Two we have now re opened our facilities however to the additional health and safety requirements, and to ensure that GSCT continues to follow government advise at all times, there will be some changes to how you access our facilities and services.
Some of our opening times have changed to accommodate the necessary changes put in place. Please re-accustom yourself to them here.
Spectators and Number Limits within Courts
Unfortunately we are currently unable to allow spectators within our facilities, and our viewing galleries will be closed to the public. There will also be limited numbers of people allowed in each facility to ensure social distancing, compliance with National Governing Bodies regulations, which includes umpires, players and coaches. These will be discussed with the booking managers.
Access to the gym and classes will be through pre-booked sessions only. Customers can also now book Squash and Badminton Courts online through the same system in line with National Governing Bodies sport guidelines in relation to the tier system. Members will be able to book sessions up to eight (8) days in advance and will receive a booking confirmation email. Members will also have the ability to cancel the session through the booking system, freeing up space for others. Please book your slots here
Track and Trace
GSCT will comply with all track and trace measures put in place by the government and will record and hold attendance details for a period of 21 days. There are QR Codes provided by the NHS Test and Trace app within every venue.
A one-way system is in operation inside the buildings and we ask that you follow the marked arrows to guide you safely through the facilities.
Attendees should wear a face covering when entering any of our facilities, but may choose to remove the covering whilst you exercise.
Hand Sanitation Stations
These will be stationed in each facility, along with blue roll supplies.
Details of our extensive cleaning schedule are facility specific. Information will be published and displayed within each facility.
Changing Facilities and Toilets
Changing facilities are not currently available, so please bring minimal items with you and arrive dressed for your activity. Toilet facilities will be available in the New Sports Centre.
The fitness suite will look very different to prior to lockdown. We have had to make changes to the room layout and reduce equipment to ensure compliance with government guidelines.
Members will be able to book their one (1) hour session (maximum one (1) per day) via the online booking system. On arrival at the facility attendees will need to wait outside the main entrance to the new sports hall if early to allow previous session attendees to leave and for cleaning to take place.
Users will not be allowed to use personal towels within the fitness suite. Recyclable blue paper towel roll will be available for all to use.
Due to currently being in Tier three, we are unable to operate our exercise class programme. We hope to be able to commence our programme when our region enters a lower tier.
We have made several changes in order to be in a position to deliver our class programme to our members. These are outlines below:
Reduced permitted numbers to ensure distancing
Defined personal exercise space
Doors to rooms will be held open where possible to maintain airflow
Where classes follow on from each other attendees should not gather in groups outside the facility but to remain in their vehicles until the room is vacated by the previous occupants
Attendees will be required to bring their own exercise mat and water bottle
Attendees are not allowed to bring towels under the current guidelines
Classes must be booked in advance online
Memberships -what happens next
All memberships were automatically frozen again as from November 5th when we entered Lockdown Two. Memberships recommenced on re-opening of facilities on December 2nd and the first scheduled membership payment will be taken on January 1st 2021. If your payment card which we hold on our leisure management system has expired during the lockdown period, please can we ask members with new cards to confirm their details with reception prior to January 1st.
Notification of Changes
Members will be notified of any future changes to our operations and procedures through the use of email where permission has been granted. Updates will also appear on here and our social media platforms (Facebook).
Currently we are unable to provide pay-per-session options in gym or classes, however squash courts and badminton courts are now available to be booked again. Members are able to book into the fitness suite, as well as squash/badminton courts online.
Our facilities will operate on card-only payments until further notice to reduce the risk of cross-infection.
